ACR 102 Airborne Memorial Highway.  (Audra Strickland, Westlake Village. DESCRIPTION: Would designate State Highway Route 101 from the East Los Angeles interchange to the Oregon border as the Airborne Memorial Highway.
The Resolution has been amended to require that the Boards of Supervisors of each of the 14 counties through which this route passes must pass a resolution supporting the designation of the memorial in their county.

STATUS:  Referred to Assembly Committee on Transportation with a hearing scheduled on March 24.  The hearing was cancelled at the request of the author.  Adopted by Committee on Transportation April 14 (vote 12-0), and by Committee on Appropriations April 23.  Adopted by the Assembly May 1 (vote 76-0).

DESCRIPTION: Would recognize December 10 through 13 14, 2008, as Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Days.  These dates coincide with the scheduled observance of the 20-year anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Capitol Park in Sacramento.

STATUS:  Introduced July 14, 2008.  Passed by Assembly Committee on Rules August 7 (vote 8-0).  Passed by the Assembly August 13.
Passed by the Senate August 22 (vote 37-0).
Assembly concurred in Senate amendments August 30.  Enrolled.
Note:  No further action is required.  The Secretary of State should Chapter the Resolution very soon.

SJR 9 Funding: veterans health care.  (Jenny Oropeza, Redondo Beach)   [CHAPTERED]
DESCRIPTION: Would urge the Congress and the President of the United States to pass assured funding for veterans health care, and that the Governor and the Legislature of the State of California support this assured funding for veterans health care.

STATUS:  Introduced May 22.  Withdrawn from Senate Committee on Rules June 18, and adopted by the Senate (vote 38-0).
In the Assembly, adopted by the Committee on Veterans Affairs July 10 (vote 9-0).  Adopted by the Assembly August 30 (vote 75-0).

SJR 16 Veterans: hospitals: prescriptions.  (Mark Wyland, San Juan Capistrano/Carlsbad)  [UPDATED JUNE 29]  [CHAPTERED]
Urges Congress and the President to allow Veterans' Administration (VA) facilities to fill emergency prescriptions written by non VA doctors.
NOTE:  The Resolution states, in error, that military retirees and dependents may have prescriptions filled at military medical facilities even if they are written by doctors who are not contract employees at the facility.

STATUS:  Adopted by Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs April 8 (vote 4-0). Adopted by the Senate April 17 (vote 38-0).
In Assembly, adopted by Committee on Veterans Affairs June 18 (vote 8-0).  Adopted by the Assembly June 23 (vote 78-0).

DESCRIPTION:  Resolution to honor and congratulate the National Guard on the occasion of its 100th Anniversary.

STATUS:  Adopted by the Senate April 17 (vote 38-0).
